Currently Alyssa is having cold. She coughs and has runny nose. She started with a slight fever last week on Wednesday, went to see paediatrician on Thursday. Saw Dr Arbaiyah. She did examination on Alyssa’s lung..The phlegm was not that serious yet.. No coughing at that time..so she just prescribed 3 medicines to Alyssa. She began coughing around 2-3 days after we went to see the doctor.. Her phlegm is getting worse and now runny nose:-( poor baby.. I only gave her the medicine when she really needs it..Couldn’t give it to her too often..She is just too young to consume all those kind of medicine.
It’s partly my fault I think…she gets the cold from me. I started feeling unwell a few days before she got sick. My first wisdom tooth (right, below) is coming out. I had slight fever, coughing and runny nose later on.. and she got all of that just right after..urmm.. Sorry baby..hope you will recover real soon…
Speaking of illness, hubby had gout about the same day Alyssa had the fever. His foot was swollen..Went to see the doc, she took some blood to test for uric acid reading and it was quite high. He needs to watch what he eats now..no seafood, no meat!
On other notes, I succeed in my job interview which I attended on 3rd June 2008. I received the offer letter last Saturday. Actually I received the much awaited phone call first on Thursday. The guy who broke the news and congratulated me had me choose whether I prefer the offer letter to be mailed to me or self pick-up. I chose to be sent to me, of course! Hehehh. I will start working on August 1st, 2008. It’s a semi-government company. It’s the closest I get to be apart of government server. Heh! So, Yay!
As much as I am excited to be accepted into this company, I have mix feelings to deal with. After being a housewife for 1 ½ year, and being a SAHM for almost 6 months, it’s quite hard to face the fact that I will have to part with my baby. I’ve been taking care of her 24/7 but after this, I won’t be able to see her for almost 10 hours a day. I’m sure she needs some time to adjust, but my main concern is her feeding time. **sigh. She is a breastfed baby. She refuses formula milk. I tried giving her NAN, Lactogen and Enfalac A+, but to no avail, she rejected all of the milk. She would throw it all up, cried like she was beaten up:-o, and sometimes throw up. Guess she didn’t like the taste. Heck! I don’t like the taste either! I tasted all 3 formulas and I can’t stand the smell and taste, especially Lactogen and Enfalac A+. Smelly! For Enfalac, we “accidentally” bought the big can, what a waste! I’m still in the quest to find a formula milk that not so smelly and most importantly my baby likes it. It won’t be easy… I called some of the milk company asking for samples, but unfortunately, they couldn’t provide any milk samples for baby below 1 year old. It’s the Malaysian law that prohibit them to do so as the government is encouraging breastfeeding, so no advertisements for milk intended for baby below 1 year are allowed. Oh dear!
Refuses formula milk is still acceptable as I still can pump and store breast milk for her. But the main issue is she refuses bottle as well. Tried giving her EBM in a bottle before, she totally rejected it. I bought different kinds of teats, softer ones, different brands etc, but she still seeks the original thing hehehh. Still have about 1 week time for me to train her to feed from the bottle..urmm..I doubt he will like it though. But I did buy this sippy cup from nuby.

Gave her water from that cup, seems like she likes it. I tried put milk in it; she does suck the spout, but refuses to swallow the milk..hurmmm… what to do? I know my genius baby only wants the best milk with the beast teats ever, but you’re going to need to use silicon teats too, baby. Very soon! Otherwise, grandma gonna have to feed you milk using spoon.
Lucky we do not need to find a nursery / babysitter for Alyssa at this moment. Less issue, less headache. Grandma is here and willing to take care of Alyssa while we’re working. Thanks, grandma!
